PaintLikeJulie.js includes shapes/lines/colors that are common in Julie Mehretu's painting, so that the user is able to use the library and code a painting in her style. Meanwhile, the user is able to have fun exploring each function as well as different combination of shape and color.
Julie Mehretu is an American contemporary visual artist, known for her multi-layered paintings of abstracted landscapes on a large scale. Her paintings, drawings, and prints depict the cumulative effects of urban sociopolitical changes.

Why I did this project?
Julie Mehretu is one of my favorite artist and I've attempted to use code to recreate her painting in my class. During the process.
A p5 drawing before I created the library:

Here I was only able to imitate the basic shapes and directions of Julie’s painting and I wished to have them in a larger quantity.
I also found that it is really hard to code the shape individually. This library was dedicated to artists and designers who like Julie's work like me. It provides a easier way to paint like Julie!
